Nightmares and Dreamscapes – Crouch End
The second episode of Nightmares and Dreamscapes mini-series is Crouch End, another short from the stories of Stephen King.
Crouch End tells the story of loving devoted couple (a lawyer and his wife) in London on their honeymoon.
During one romantic day, he is contacted by a client, inviting the couple to his home in Crouch End.
But the cab driver advises them to return from Crouch End, muttering about people traveling there and never returning. Ignoring the cab driver’s warning, the couple find themselves in what can only be considered a thin spot between this world and another.
Crouch End brings the couple to the wrong part of London, losing themselves in the neighborhood where strange beings and creepy children play.
It was certainly mind-boggling and confusing, never really explaining the other world, even after he sacrifices himself to save his wife.
She is merely left alone, arriving at a police station with memories of her strange experience.
Definitely not my favorite episode of Nightmares and Dreamscapes, but the thin veil between the worlds in Crouch End brought some more mysteries from the unknown universe.
And remember to listen to those old, slightly creepy men who always advise you to leave immediately, they are almost 100% right with the vague tales and their implications.
