Dead Sushi Limited LA Theatrical Release

This Friday, January 18th, a horror film entitled Dead Sushi will have a limited one-week theatrical run at the Downtown Independent in Los Angeles. But it will be made available on DVD, digitally and exclusively at Best Buy on Blu-ray, on January 22, 2013.  The Blu-ray will be available everywhere else on March 26, 2013.

It is a horror movie… a horror movie about monstrous sushi creatures. And the sushi monsters will be battled by a young woman with martial arts action and sushi chef skills. I knew there was a reason why I never tried the uncooked fish dish. Starring Rina Takeda, Shigeru Matsuzaki and Takamasa Suga, Dead Sushi is written and directed by Noboru Iguchi.

Dead Sushi

Keiko, the daughter of a legendary sushi chef, runs away from home when his Karate-style regimen becomes too severe. Finding work at a rural hot springs inn, she is ridiculed by the eccentric staff and guests, including employees of a pharmaceutical firm there on a work retreat. But little do they know that a disgruntled former researcher has also come to the inn with a plan for revenge, using a serum he developed that can awaken the murderous instincts of ordinary sushi, turning it into bloodthirsty monsters! Keiko must use both her sushi training and her martial arts skills to save the others and defeat the flying killers.

From the director of “Machine”, “Robogeisha” and “The ABCS of Death,” Noboru Iguchi brings us his latest horror film, DEAD SUSHI, an official selection of Fantastic Fest 2012, Fantasia Film Festival 2012, Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival 2012 and Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2012.
